Successful Completion of Fresher’s Orientation Program of the Dept. of Sociology, Fall-2025

The Department of Sociology, in collaboration with the Green University Social Bonding Club, successfully hosted the Fresher’s Orientation on September 24, 2025.

The program commenced at 11:30 a.m. in Room G-108, conducted in full compliance with official guidelines. The event opened with an introductory session for the newcomers, where all faculty members warmly welcomed them with thoughtful gifts (a pen holder and a flower).

We were privileged to have Prof. Dr. Khawza Ifhtekhar Uddin Ahmed, Pro Vice Chancellor of Green University of Bangladesh, as the Chief Guest. He shared valuable advice on academic and career opportunities in sociology, emphasized discipline and adherence to rules, and commended the punctuality of our students.

Following this, Ahsan Habib,  Assistant Professor inspired the freshers with a speech on the growing career prospects for sociology graduates, whileSamiul Islam,  Assistant Professor  offered an insightful overview of the discipline and its significance. Mr. Humayun Kabir, Program Coordinator and Assistant Professor, provided the students with important details about registration, class schedules, and other academic matters. Current students also joined the event to extend their support and encouragement to the newcomers.

Prof. Dr. Abul Hossain, chairperson of the department of Sociology, addressed the students with an enlightening and visionary speech. Later, all faculty members were formally introduced. The program concluded with closing remarks from Prof. Dr. Abul Hossain, highlighting the importance of unity and interaction between students and faculty members
