River Cruise-2026

The Department of Sociology, Green University of Bangladesh (GUB), successfully organized its annual study tour, River Cruise–2026, on 16 February 2026. The event brought together students, faculty members, and organizers for a day filled with learning, entertainment, and unforgettable experiences along one of Bangladesh’s most beautiful river routes—from Kanchan to the Meghna River Estuary.

The journey commenced in the early morning from Kanchan Ghat, where participants gathered with great enthusiasm before boarding the cruise vessel. As the launch moved forward, the breathtaking scenery of the Meghna River unfolded, offering panoramic views of vast waterways, open skies, and the natural beauty of rural Bangladesh. A scheduled stop at Mohonganj, Chandpur, provided participants with an opportunity to explore the riverside environment, capture memorable photographs, and enjoy the tranquil surroundings.

Throughout the cruise, a variety of indoor and outdoor activities created an engaging and lively atmosphere. Participants enthusiastically took part in games and team-based activities that fostered friendship, cooperation, and healthy competition. The cultural segment was another major attraction of the event, featuring captivating performances of songs, dance, recitation, and instrumental music by students, showcasing their creativity and talent.

One of the most exciting moments of the cruise was the raffle draw, which added an element of surprise and excitement to the event. The announcement of winners during the closing ceremony brought joy and enthusiasm among participants, creating a perfect ending to a memorable day.

River Cruise–2026 successfully achieved its objective of combining academic bonding, recreation, and experiential learning beyond the classroom. The Department of Sociology extends its sincere appreciation to all faculty members, volunteers, and students whose dedication and active participation made the event a remarkable success.
