The Department of Sociology and Anthropology successfully organized a vibrant and colorful Fruits Festival on July 2, 2025. The event showcased 35 varieties of fruits, celebrating not only their nutritional value but also the cultural and environmental significance they hold.

We were honored by the gracious presence of our respected Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mohammad Shorif UddinPro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khawza Iftekhar Uddin AhmedTreasurer Prof. Dr. Md. Fayzur RahmanDean of Green Business School Mr. Mohammed Tareque Aziz, Distinguished Chairpersons, and Administrative Officials of Green University Bangladesh. 
Our respected guests graciously visited the fruits exhibition area and observed the variety of fruits with great interest and appreciation. Their presence and attention added inspiration and encouragement to all participants. During the program, honourable Prof. Dr. Mohammad Shorif Uddin, Vice Chancellor emphasized the importance of fruit consumption and guided students on leading a healthy, purposeful life. He also appreciated the department for this meaningful initiative.

Prof. Dr. Khawza Iftekhar Uddin Ahmed, Pro Vice Chancellor fondly recalled his memories associated with fruits and expressed gratitude to the department for organizing such a unique and refreshing event. Treasurer Prof. Dr. Md. Fayzur Rahman spoke about the importance of eating fruits during the summer season. He appreciated the department’s efforts and also praised the variety of fruits displayed at the festival.

Dean Mr. Mohammed Tareque Aziz remarked on the uniqueness and success of the event, applauding the creativity involved. Dr. Habib Mohammad Ali, Chairperson of JMC, highlighted the need to plant more fruit-bearing trees and suggested utilizing fruit waste to create eco-friendly fertilizer.

Finally, Dr. Abul Hossain, Chairperson of the Department of Sociology and Anthropology, concluded by noting that the fruit festival represents a celebration of inclusivity, bringing people together through a shared appreciation for nature’s gifts.

The festival ended with all respected guests enjoying a variety of fruits together in a friendly and inclusive atmosphere.
